New Year, Same Me but with Bigger Goals

There are only two days left in 2019 and I am so excited for what all there is to come in 2020. Around this time of year people start talking about resolutions and I hate the word "resolution" because I feel like when you use it, you're saying you’re ashamed of where you are in life. I use the word goal instead and view it as something I want to achieve this year, instead of something I am ashamed of and want to change. I've started thinking about what all I want to accomplish this coming year and here are my top 5 goals for 2020!

1. Daily time with God
This is something I have struggled with for SO LONG. This is also something I want to do more than ever. If I ever feel overwhelmed this is the first place I turn and I want to make it a daily habit to turn to God before I become overwhelmed.

2. Be a better wife
Being a newlywed is HARD. Figuring out how to share your space, your wants, your desires is hard. Finding that balance with your partner is such a beautiful thing. Being a wife is honestly the best gift I have ever received and I hope this year I make sure Micah feels the same way about being a husband.

3. Listen to understand, not to be understood
Understanding other people based on their feelings, experiences, or perspectives is honestly something I struggle with every day. I struggle with this because I feel like I need to have an answer or a comeback when listening instead of just taking in what the other person is saying and being there for them.

4. Healthy Choices
Drinking more water and less Coke, exercising daily, meal planning, and even better skincare! Being more aware of what I am putting in my body and on my body is something I want to be top priority this year! (Duh, or it wouldn't be on this list, hehe)

5. Be more confident!
Whether that is with blogging, teaching, wearing an outfit, or just feeling comfortable in my own skin. I feel like once I become more confident in myself, then I will get so much more out of everything I am doing day to day.

2019 has been AMAZING. I graduated college, got married, started my blog, became a 2nd grade teacher, and SO many other wonderful things have happened. I can't wait to see what all 2020 has in store for me and I hope it's your best year yet!
